Ford`s Opera House
This photo taken in 1992 by George Sakkestad of the Los Gatos Weekly Times in Los Gatos, California, was published in an article of that newspaper in October of 1996. Why they waited four years to come forward with the photo is unclear. The photo taken in Ford`s Opera House at 140 West Main Street, (now known as The Opera House Shops & Banquet facilities) captured a shadow image on the balcony.
The building was the town`s opera house in the early 1900`s & was purchased in the 1980`s by Paul & Linda Dorso. The building has had a reputation for years of lights being switched on by themselves & reports by visitors of sensing a presence. The photographer took about two dozen photos of the location for an article in the business section of the newspaper.
George is convinced that this isn`t a processing error because the shadow image appeared in two of the pictures, & in the second picture it had moved further to the left in the photo. Not to mention that the balcony banister is clearly visible in front of the shadow image, which rules out the processing error theory. Although there has been several occurrences over the years, no one knows who these ghostly occupants could be.
